I was very fortunate to have met Phil over 30 years ago, when I met my best friend Linda his daughter in 1987.. Phil became a very good friend to me, and I could always rely on him to give me the best advice that really helped me through some hard times... he was one of a kind, a very "cool" man in the best way!..
He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him...
His family was everything to him..
I pray and wish that the family will be comforted by all the beautiful memories of their wonderful father and grandfather..❤❤
Love, Linda Goldis

Dear Dad;
It's only been a little over a week, since we lost you, and yet I miss you so much. I'm relieved that you are not lying there in bed sick, being unable to express yourself, or do for things for yourself. Rachael helps me, she reminds me that you are no longer suffering. I know that you wanted to see us, but due to this Pandemic , we had to stay away. I hope you enjoyed all the food we brought for you to eat, I tried to give you everything that you enjoyed. Dad we all love you, I'm so sorry you had to go. I hope you are with others you love, and are able to look down on us. I love you Dad sorry for the bad times, but the good times so outweighed it all. Michael misses you as well, very much. He is doing ok, he too has his memories of you and him together. We always miss you dad and are giving you a candle to light your skies. I love you, very much.

Our deepest sympathies, to the Meyer Family, May God, give you peace in your hearts and comfort you with his grace.
I had the pleasure of knowing Phil (your dad, grandfather) for just a short time, but his presence was always known. I loved hearing the stories about his shenanigans. He had a heart of gold, his kindness and generousity were endless and that smile....
he was loved by all. Now my friend, you are healed and you are dancing to the music in heaven among the angels. Respectfully we honor and celebrate you. Love to your family, Deb Denman & Jim Verchio

You put up a mighty fight Phil, as strong as Samson, and I was humbled by your will to live. I'm relieved your pain is now replaced with everlasting peace. Enjoy your heavenly adventure and we'll all reunite as G-d commands.

my condolences to the Meyer family.
Phil was my best friend, father figure and family. he has taught me about EVERYTHING and i mean that.
he had more experience in life than anyone i have ever met. my job was to listen and learn.many things that schools dont teach. so many stories, so many jokes that i still tell all the time.
Phil was 66 years old when we first met, i was 25 but that didnt matter, we simply CLICKED.
Meeting him was the best thing that happened to me in all the years living in Sarasota and beyond.
Phil used to come to see my partner and I at our shop to say hi, and check if we needed anyting. we spent hours together every day and spent many evenings going out . we even partied a lot together to a point that i kept forgetting how old he is. None in our group could keep up with him. we will all miss him.
Phil and I had a special bond that i never had with anyone else. I love him as a friend, as a father, as a teacher and someone that always had the answer when i needed one.
I just wished I spent more time with him in the last few years. i wish we spoke more, i wished i visited him more.
i will always regret that.
I LOVE YOU PHIL
your friend Charly

Charly, as I was going through Dad's phone contacts, I came across your name listed as "Charly BestFriend". You two shared an incredible bond, and he wouldn't want you to feel bad or regret anything with him. He loved you and constantly bragged about you. Thank you for your sweet message xoxo love always, your Sister on the West Coast.

what do you say about a gentleman that you greatly respect after knowing him for such a short time. I only had 9 years with Philip Meyer yet I know him to be a real human being. A man who loved his family. Quick to laugh and quick to make a joke. He would challenge you to test your resolve, but only in a friendly manner. Always a smile, and always a helpful demeanor. It was my privilege to know Philip Meyer, or rather it was my honor to know him. Rest Well My Friend!

I wish Dad you were still with us, but by now I know that you are in a better place.
I love you Dad, we all will miss you everyday. Everyone sends their love to you, we already miss your laughter and smiles.
We were lucky to have you Dad, you taught us about life and people. I'm sorry you couldn't stay longer, but understand
why you didn't.
We will all be together again one day, but for now, your in a better place. You look down on us dad, and we'll look up on you.
I love you dad, this is so hard without you. I'm lighting a candle for you so you'll know it's from us. RIP.. we love you.
Until we meet again..
